Show recently closed tabs and the ability to resurrect them
Keeping recently closed tabs around for a while and making recovering them easier, would help with accidentally closing tabs and make recovering specific tab easier than browsing through the "recently closed tabs" menu.

Iwould like to resurrect a closed tab
It's currently too easy to accidentally close tabs and too hard to resurrect them.
I would like to see a preference to "turn off close icons for tabs in Tab Candy" (i.e. tabs only closeable from the tabs bar). Or perhaps the option to move tab close to a right-click menu?

But only if it can be hidden, as will take up space and look like open tabs

Good idea . . . just like the windows "Recycle Bin". A Tab Group for recently closed Tabs, with an option to "Clear" it as needed.
Just after seeing the saved groups idea, I think it would be nice if one never needed to delete a tab unless one is never going to view it ever again in life. So maybe there's no need to close tabs. Of course, we all make mistakes and we might need to resurrect so this could be a similar idea to saving groups, just that the name of this group is going to be "Recently Closed Tabs". What say you?
Since we're going to have groups anyway with TabCandy, I feel it would be best to stay with the visual UX and so have a group automatically created with the name "Recently closed tabs" or something more jazzy/cool. :) It could have subgroups for each week and subgroups for each day of the CURRENT week.
If it's not going to complicate settings, there could be a setting for how far back a user would like history to kept track of.

I can see newly closed tabs at the bottom of my History menu.
If it should be a plugin I have installed (have very feww installed) it would be "Add Bookmark here".
So go check History ...
are you suggesting like the close tab viewer from FoxTabs?
Ctrl+Shif+T already reopen the last closed tab. Really useful for me who often close tabs by accident.
I'd like to see this as either a small bar on the bottom (Google Chrome-like, in the New Tab page) or you could make a small subdivide in each visual group with the name and/or thumbnail greyed out. Or just a separate visual group with recently closed tabs.
