Saved groups
If I have a number of sites that i always want to be group. I would like to have the possibility to save the group. So that I can later on recreate the group.
This is an extension to open in tabs for bookmarks.424 votes -
Unload unused tab groups from Memory onto Hard drive
An OPTION that allows users to unload tabs/groups out of ram memory onto the hard drive when they haven't been viewed for a specified amount of time, is i think really important.
This would allow Firefox to be extremely fast all the time, especially if it is programmed in such a way that those tabs and groups that are on the hard drive cache get ZERO CPU time and are invisible until the user views them again, in which case they get pulled back into ram.
This would allow dozens, hundreds of tabs to run smoothly. I have quite a… more

Show recently closed tabs and the ability to resurrect them
Keeping recently closed tabs around for a while and making recovering them easier, would help with accidentally closing tabs and make recovering specific tab easier than browsing through the "recently closed tabs" menu.

Automatic arranging and filtering of tabs and groups
There should be an ability to sort and filter tabs and groups based on attributes like tab title, URL, most recently used, etc.

Automatic grouping via "open link in new tab"
If you could have an option which would turn a feature similar to this on that would be dope.
My idea was that any links that you choose to open in a new tab would go into a group which that tab already existed in or create a new group for that tab. I then thought it if you could turn that tab into a drop down (select box) which would contain all the other tabs in that group that would make having multiple groups open at once possible.109 votes -
Support UNDO
Please add Undo (and Redo) support to tab manipulation. Sometimes I mess-up my carefully positioned layout by accident. Same goes for closing individual tabs and groups of tabs - this should be reversible action. Currently you can restore closed tabs with Ctrl+Shift+T, but they loose the grouping and you are forced to leave the TabCandy view. What I mean is for Undo/Redo to work directly in TC view.

Search for Tabs
Provide search box to quickly locate tabs based on match in page title or URL. Highlight them and provide an option to create group from the matches.
These search groups could potentially be saved to work as Smart Playlists in iTunes or like saved Search Folders (from Bookmarks / History) in Firefox's Library.

Move TabCandy button to tab bar
Since installing TabCandy associates the cmd+1 shortcut with the TabCandy interface, it seems intuitive to move the launching button to the far left of the tab bar. It should look like a small tab button (kind of like the New Tab button?), and it would behave like the first tab in the window. The first actual tab would be numbered 2, and the next is 3, and so on (It seems that this is already the current behavior). It would make the cmd+1 shortcut make more sense, and give a physical space where the TabCandy interface can sit.

Merge Tabs & Bookmarks Into One
I hope this signals the merging of these two concepts. Really, for me, bookmarks are a place where websites go to die and I use tabs like i would imagine bookmarks were intended for: keeping track of ideas i want to keep as a reminder. Tree Style Tabs allows me to organize those ideas in ways that would be too time consuming to replicate with bookmarks.
Watching that demo made me realize that the two concepts should be merged into one. The TabCandy concept seems to be a great way of accomplishing this. The only suggestion I have is to… more

Keyboard Shortcuts
Tab candy should have keyboard shortcuts like this:
1: [ALT]+[~] = Open tab candy
2: [CTRL]+[1 or 2 ... or 9 ] = Go to tab 1 or 2 ... or 9 in current tab group
3: [CTRL]+[0] = Show input window and go to tab in current group, that you type. It can be even tab nr. 299. in current group.
4: [Shift]+[~] = Next tab group
5: [CTRL]+[~] = Previous tab group
6 [CTRL]+[Shift] = New tab group
6: [CTRL]+[Shift]+[1 or 2 ... or 9 ] = Go to group 1 or 2 ... or 9.
7: [CTRL]+[Shift]+[0]… more

Tab candy in tab bar
Tab candy is a great idea but what would be even better if it was already integrated to the tab bar. What I mean is that the ability to group and organize would be aready in tab bar and groups would appear next to open tabs. I even made a picture of my idea.

Something really simple but I think it's enough to give you the idea.
There you can see there are four groups. Three of them are collapsed and one expanded.
- When hovering on a group it shows (maybe?) vertically what tabs are in that group. … more63 votes -

Glass UI in Vista/7 and move the buttons to the tab bar
The UI is only compatible with MAC and it looks ugly in Windows. Why don't make a glassy UI in Vista and 7, and why put the button at the Navigation bar, but not tab bar?

Note Taking Integration
Ability to add notes and thoughts to pages from the tabbed groups. Even when closing a tab or group, it's then possible to refer back to any important site from the saved notes list and see a comprehensive structure of wiring the notes together to form the basis of a research topic.

hierarchy and bookmarks
Hierarchy: The one thing that immediately occurs to me that some
people will consider really important and others won't care about at
all is the ability to have groups within groups (where subgroups are
top-level objects). So you can zoom in on a group, which will give a
top-level workspace and zoom out ad infinitum.I also imagine that TabCandy and bookmarks becoming much the same thing.

Return to TabCandy view on tab close
I find myself most often hitting Cmd-W, Cmd-1 to close a tab and immediately return to the TabCandy overview. I'd like the option to just directly return after closing a tab, either via keyboard or mouse

Groups as seperate windows / Windows as groups
Tihs was prompted by the Feedback button spawning an entirely new window, and upon hitting the TabCandy key in that window i realized that its contents were completely separate from the other window. I propose either having new windows or pop up windows not open a "new window", but instead a new group in TabCandy.

slide
I like how the panel opens but sometimes i dont want to open that huge panel. I was hoping maybe if we right click on that button that opens the big panel with all tabs, it just slides down the tab bar and we see rows of our tabs. They should of course be grouped, maybe like could share a common background color. And then when I click on a tab it will make that tab selected and the tab bar that was slid open to be wide now slides back up to one row and shows the row of… more
